Injury :-(
January 21, 2004, 09:22:21 am
Argh!  My first injury  :-(

I was at the wall last night and my foot slipped off a hold.
This has caused a lot of pain in my right hand that I must
have tweaked when I fell off.  It's on my 3rd finger and
is painful from the first joint down to my wrist, and
feels like it's running down where the bone is.
It's not bruised, but it's pretty sore and I still have
full movement.

Is this probably a tendon injury?

I'm off on holiday next week snowboarding so I'm going to
give it a rest for a couple of weeks until I come back,
anything else that'll be good for it?

Sounds like a tendon injury.  Just to make sure, hold your fingers down flat on a table and try to make a fist.  If it hurts then it's definitely a tendon.

If it doesn't hurt on rest then you're laughing.  This means it's a grade one injury and it should be completely better within a couple of weeks.

Rest it until it doesn't hurt when you use it, I reckon about a week, and then take it easy for the next week and it should be back to its good old self.
