Thanks for the tip off, would have missed it completely, so glad I didn't - pure genius!

Just spotted the first Mesrine on iplayer, I assume the second will be up at some point, both quality films, highly recommend

Ray Mears is doing a show at the moment "How the Wild West was Won". Great wilderness pr0n for all the frontier lovers.

Watched all of them and it's the best thing I've seen in years. Although I admit that I don't watch much to compare it to but still.

Almost 100% improvised. Totally brilliant.

"The Armstrong Lie" was on C4 last night.  Really, really good documentary made by the guy who was filming Lance's "Comeback" only to make the movie of the unravelling.

Probably available on C4 catchup.

Oh yes, even more so in the flesh.  That was the phrase I used too...

Ah I think that's the one I watched. The Oprah bit was sickening.

I watched both 'The Armstrong Lie' (available on 4OD) and 'The Lance Armstrong Story' (on iplayer).

There's a huge amount of overlap between them, with mostly the same people being interviewed (Frankie & Betsy Andreu / David Walsh etc.) and the same footage being shown.

The Armstrong Lie focuses a little bit more on his actual comeback in 2009 and includes interviews with Armstrong himself but you could save yourself half an hour by watching the iplayer one.

I'm still curious to see what will come of all the lawsuits against him.

Thought Stop at Nothing was a better watch than The Armstrong Lie, good to see input from Lemond etc, also the first time I've heard any comment on Armstrong's ex-wife and her stance i.e. 'necessary evil'. Personally I'd like to see input from other riders, mainly his rivals, Ullrich especially but also Beloki, Basso etc. Landis also does a good interview on Authors@Google - comes across as a nice guy as does Ullrich.

Each year I am subjected to The Great British Nationalist Vintage Parade Bake Off. You must, under no circumstances, watch it. However, you should watch the first 5 mins to see a man who rides a Nathan Barley bike to his office without a hint of irony. Hoot your trap off yeah?

Don't think this has been on tv, but figured this would be the best place for it as its a documentary

Nice one FD, not seen this.

The film from 2008 (based on the same book) is grim as fuck but brilliant.

It's by the same writer set in the same place (that grim pyramid block of flats) great but grim.

I keep on recommending Braquo 'til I'm blue in the face but no-one seems interested...

People seem more interested in watching other people bake cakes than putting themselves through an existential wringer for a few hours

I saw something earlier about the cake programme getting better ratings than the World Cup.

I don't have the words to convey how I feel about that and what it actually means.

I heard that too and my heart lifted that morons would rather watch cakes rise than over-payed rapists fight over a ball - there's hope for humanity yet.
Oh except that UKIP now has an MP... Back to standard end of days/ ebola death view of life... Woman gives birth astride the grave...
