Jorg Verhoven jumping off The Flying Dutchman (8b or 8c) having skipped the last clip (unsure whether the route/grade/skipping bolt is accurate).

My mate was at the crag at the same time. Apparently the guy climbed to right near the top above 1 wire which then fell out and he got pumped trying to place a cam and fell off. No excuse for that on the sentinel really...

I've climbed Polar Circus 3 times and each time didn't finish the last pitch (the pitch in the photo) due to avy hazard. It's a long way to climb to bail! The route is notorious for objective hazard - I remember reading a story of a team back in the day that climbed it, an avy hit, and they were able to walk back down the whole route... probably some exaggeration involved...

There have been a few good eclipse climbing photos but this is the most spectacular I've seen.

Something at Smith Rocks (I don't think it's Darkness at Noon).

Great shot, did well to set it up right. (Assuming there was no cheating involved)

he says on FB
"Best view in the house... it took 4 days of planning and hard work to capture this shot. My girlfriend @martinatib and good friend @thistommysmith climbed the route twice, in scorching heat, to nail the positioning. But we nailed it!"

Posed hanging footless lockoff on one arm would have been better. Back around.

Resurrecting this thread - I was trying Aboriginal Sin at Kilnsey during the week and was told that there's a FA photo with Dave Pegg bat-hanging in the middle of the route. Does anyone have the old copy of High with it in (Should be summer 1989?) and could scan it in here?

Ta muchly :-)

A bit niche maybe, but a one and a half hour long talk with the one and only Heinz Zak showing photos on
Lots of photos of Wolfgang, Huber brothers, etc. Nice guy and easily my favourite climbing photographer.

Okay, so its not that quality but it is a new crag we found recently and me attempting some on-sight FA's.

I got very scared just above this point and had to be rescued as most of the gear was pants and there didn't look much more until the rock steepened up again about 4-5 m above me, and that rock looked like it would just break if loaded anyway ;D. Such are the joys of trying to do things in a pure manner... Will take a more sane approach with this one in the near future

Possibly a dumb question, but I thought HK was pretty small? How can a crag that size be overlooked?
