Go Team USA! :dance1:  Not bad for a second time.  Little bit of luck and a whole lot of education.

Thank god Blatter is going.  Can't happen soon enough for me.

Funny / sordid insight into Chuck Blazer (the FIFA exec whose "turning" and wearing an FBI wire precipitated all this):

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/soccer/chuck-blazer-meet-fifa-biggest-nightmare-article-1.2241143

A choice excerpt:

"He liked to treat the guys in his crew to New York strip club nights. For a time those tabs were charged to CONCACAF as a “SONY” expense, which sounds like a tech cost, except “SONY” stood for Stringfellow’s of New York, the high-priced strip club that used to operate in Manhattan."

In some ways I respect Blazer for the "knew he had it coming at some point so FUCK IT!" attitude.

It's almost poetic that he takes the whole thing down while dying. The fat cunt.

Aye, by comparison, the venality of Blatter and Valcke et al has a very quotidian character - ordinary greed on an admittedly extraordinary scale.  But for all his ill-gotten gains, you suspect that all Sepp's corruption has amounted to for him is more expensive suits and bigger numbers on his bank statements.  Chuck's actions at least have a certain grandiosity to recommend them.  He enjoyed his money: he wasn't just sitting it watching the balance accrue, he was renting Manhattan apartments for his cats, taking his underlings clubbing, and touring from banquet to banquet on a fleet of mobility scooters, with a child-attacking  macaw on his shoulder. Still a cunt... but at least one who might have given a few people a decent night out.

I think you mean the Quarters? There is/was an extra knockout round this time as there are more teams in the Cup.

 Bad times. I remember them sponsoring Scarborough in the 90s. We sang Manfred Mann's "Pretty Flamingo" at them.

Hopefully your away kit will be better than this east coast theme park classic.

Ha!

We've done ok, no stupid strips and despite Dafabet being a gambling outfit from the Philippines, it seems to reasonably above board and isn't a chicken.

(And, a re-post of the fantastic Venky's Chicken advert for those who missed it the first time...... )

And it gets even better - Flamingo Land are the (back) shirt sponsors for Boro as well.. So we'll get the flamingo land Derby. One despairs...

Wasn't sure what the protocol was, but I've taken the liberty of setting up the UKB Premier Leauge fantasy football for the forthcoming season.

Code to join is as follows: 336399-88899

Just joined but struggle to find the time for this now I'm not at work in an office on Friday afternoon.

And as Moose hasn't reminded us the pre season guide is out with the Racing Post today. Stats galore.
