Hi, I know there is a route list on pb.info but I there a topo in existence that I could use?

Doubt it since access is dubious at the best of times.

There used to be a topo online to one of the older buttresses, but recent stuff has tended to be offline due to access etc.

Ok cool cheers... Was just gonna go for a look on my own (to not draw attention) but might leave it if its that sketchy... There's a brilliant topo for earth works behind the old science centre. Might try that instead cheers

I don't think actual access is sketchy in practice (no doubt mick or tony will correct me if I'm wrong) but officially its not kosher, so probably just that its unwise maybe to have topos advertising the place. If you just turn up you should be able to find most of the stuff and a lot of the lines are fairly apparent.

I have had the miss fortune to be kicked off Roche Abbey this time last year. I have also visited Earth quarry and being kicked off Roche Abbey is the better option.

Probably less likely to get kicked off during winter, plus it wont be hotter than the sun.

My post above indicating being asked to leave Roche Abbey was a better experience than climbing at Earth Quarry was some what influenced by taking an hour to find the place.
I would park at the top of the track/ dirt road walk down it. The quarry is on the hill to your right as you walk down but you can't see it. There is a wire fence half way up the hill behind a clump of trees and its behind this. I suspect if you go in winter/ spring it might be easier to find.
These directions might be be a bit vague when you get there but they should get you to the general location. We had the Betguides stuff and at one time we even tried to ring Lee to ask him where the fuck was the place was.
