Ok, shop is ready to go!
March 21, 2009, 06:23:05 pm
There's a bit more testing I'd like to do but fuck it, I think it's ready to roll.

http://ukbouldering.com/shop

A few things:

- The shop runs slowly. Painfully so sometimes. Sorry but I can't get it any faster yet. The software is an early version, it will only get better.

- When you pay, the paypal will show "Mike Annesley" - that's me. If it doesn't say that then don't use it. I'm being paranoid there, it should be fine.

- If you live in Sheffield then I can drop them round or you can pick up to save on postage.

- Postage rates should be set up correctly for everywhere. If they are not showing for your region then don't order, contact me first on here.

- Any problems please post up here - I know this seems amateurish but I consider the whole shop to be "beta" due to the software being used and the fact that I'm being paranoid about this.

- I don't hold stock so I need to wait until I have quite a few orders then I'll do one print run to get the lot done at once. This keeps costs low and means I'm not having to visit the printers every day. Unfortunately this also means it may take a little while to get your garment, but I'll do it as fast as I can.

- I can find out from the printers next week whether other colours are ok to use too - I'm assuming I can use any colours bar black/white/maroon but I need to double-check with them first.

- Sizing info here: http://www.fruitoftheloom.co.uk/Consumer2009/en/find_your_size.php?

Erm, I think that's it - please ask any questions/post any problems/etc here and I'll get it sorted as soon as I can....

I'm scared, I've never had a shop before - I've also not actually seen the finished product so I'm relying on the printers' good name and rep. I've seen some of their samples and they look really good though  :o

Worrisome disclosure all around: I personally don't trust Bubba with the delicate personal information that I'm Large, a Male, and have a preference for Khaki (who knows what he'll do.... enlist me in the Army?!).

Worked fine apart from not being able to remove shipping so you have a £3 bonus payment.

I can help you spend it if you wish?  :beer2:

Do you pay any fees for transactions via the shop? If you do then I would rather just transfer the money to your account to maximise your income - even 2.5% soon mounts up.

Also give me a bell when you get your new phone, need to have a natter.

And last but by no means least. I propose an absolute ban on UKB garments at Norton's 40th  ;)

Yeah, standard paypal fees but an xfer would be better to avoid it.

Should have a phone back tomorrow I hope - PM me your number as I've lost all mine!

Thanks for the orders so far everyone - I'm going to leave it another week or so so hopefully I'll have >20 ordered and do it all in one fell print run. This should cover people's pay days, folks who don't visit daily, etc.

:)

Will order shortly, still deciding wether to go buff (L) or baggy (XL) (although given current weight increase XL will soon be "buff").

My chest is 32.5. Even the small is too big  :-[

I am, however, about 5' 11" (not sure if those quotation marks are the right way round. I'm not 5 inches and 11 foot). Is the small going to be long enough for me?

I doubt it, Will.  Unless you fancy 3/4 length sleeves and a crop top effect.

I think you're better sizing up; hoodies are meant to have a bit of room in them anyway, baggy is better.

Order placed

Just a suggestion, but how about a button similar to the PayPal one in the forums (and also on the front page) linking to the shop?  I navigated to this thread to find the link to the shop, but new-comers to the board may not be aware of it.

Good point Slack--line. At the moment i'm still in shock after spending five years talking about the shop and it actually happening :)

Had most of the money in my PayPal already but needed to add a few more quid. This'll take 7-9 days  :wank:

If I put my order in early will it accept it and overdraft the account interest free for a few days? It would stay like this for only a few days until the moneys come in.

I'm thinking I'll cut off for the first batch in the middle of next week so that they can start to be sent out early the week after. You don't actually need any money in your paypal account - you can pay using debit/credit cards from the payment screen.

I think I may have overdone it - a quick jobby after a night's work - a more subtle "shop" logo probably better.
