Thats nuts :o

Reminded me of Horace Goes Skiing though when he went outside the barrier/tape and when the dog ran in front of him  :)

Was thinking of going there this April but the air fares are too expensive. Seems like a nice guy though. Cant decide now between The Algarve or Finale.

From the recommendations I've had I'd go to Finale.

We intend to do a combined bike and climbing trip there next year.

I was also leaning towards Finale/La Molini but the guy who runs the bike company is telling me that my XC bike is too feeble and the downhill bike is overkill and I need a 6" AM bike

Do you know anyone thats been? what did they ride?

A mate has been a couple of times and I've read the guide book whilst the missus browsed one of the shops.  Most of the big hits have a chicken run but the trails still ride well on a beefy 5" bike.  6" would undoubtedly be better but not essential. Allegedly.  The town's nice and the crags are good if mainly in an old skool kind of way at my grade.

Thats the sort of bike I have (Stinky Delux) yet I am being told its too big. The guy seems to think that you need a spicy or something like that. Anyway, there is no way I am going to buy another bike just to go on holiday for a week. Might just go to Portugal, no misunderstandings about bike requirements there.  :punk:

after my first sesh on the board for 5 weeks (my god. you lose it quick once you are old  :'() i thought..*i know, I'll change that front wheel conti tyre to a maxxis wet tyre, wont take more than 20 mins, it was well slippy last weekend & I'll have more fun on sunday with a mud tyre on*

90 mins later... found front rim cracked WIDE open - only visible on the inside- with mahoosive hole in the middle of it  :o,  ( so spilt up another bike... changed the rubber on that wheel ... will need wheel rebuild - DT swiss FR rims are not up to the damage fatdoc can wield...)

then I turned my attentions to last weekend's ghost shifting... no worries.. outer cable shear... I got some spare... shifter has been shagged or ages... will not show you the gear on the little dial.. no biggie... BUT this mechanism seems in congruence with the flicky bit that opens up to let you get an old gear cable out (was  gonna change the inners & outers at the same time). shit... even i dont carry a spare front shifter as stock spare... and I'm lookin at a sunday ruined....

magic moment....

put it all back together... shorten rear outer hugely... to fit the now well too short inner...

bodge the rear mech shifting range..

I got the 6 easiest gears to work OK

then found a rear shifter for £30 on CRC... which I'll fit after sunday...

sorted..

the bodging never stops!

 :o

esp the speed in the first 30 secs, the fitness and the mahoosive cahoonas over the rock gardens in the later third.
