Here's another hot training tip I'd like to share with everyone.

If you're working one-armers with a bit of assistance, maybe with a finger through a sling,
try using the very tip of your pinkie in the loop, to minimise the load you can apply. Cracking idea  :punk:

It's guaranteed to get results, maybe not the result you want.

More of a pop actually.

Bum    :clap2:    :'(

Thanks Dense, yeah, not so good. Long time coming though, this one.

Working on making some big holds to pull on..

on the same hand as the pinkie that you put in the sling?

Just as my knee and wrist are almost healed, I went and played a cricket match for my work team last night (first cricket in 12 years). All that throwing has flared up my old rotator cuff injury  :'(

Meant to be off to Devon this weekend, hope it's just a twinge that settles down. Last time I felt like this, I was out for two months

Yes  :smart:

I was doing this sort of thing:

Ought to know better than to try emulating Rupert on the Beastmaker.

Hope it clears up enough for you to be able to make the most of the weekend.
I miss it down there.

Good luck!  :)

Had the stitches out in my back at lunchtime. Painless.

Bent down to pick something up later and they split apart... nice 5cm by 0.5-1cm wide by 0.5cm deep gash across the small of my back now...

Still, no wait at minor injuries... silver linings and all that ;)

Thanks Dave, was fairly achey so didn't push it too much. I think it's twinged a different bit of the rotator cuff to before as my thereaband exercises don't aggravate it. Returned with it hurting only marginally more than when I left so that's good I suppose! Got a physio appointment this week closing up my knee, I'll ask her what rehab I should be doing.

I hope it was a reasonable trip down anyway. Doesn't sound too bad - maybe at that difficult level, where you're not forced to leave it alone, and stop climbing! Good luck with the physio. If it's of any hope, I managed to get a referral to someone to sort out my ankle injury, whilst in to see someone else about an impingement problem with my elbow. It had taken over 7 years to find the right physio, and it happened just by chance.

Now then (Geoffrey), Cricket injuries..

I used to practice flighting a ball from my living room, into the hallway, to see if I could get a decent leg break, around the corner and up the stairs. You can count the number of stairs as it bounces back down. Doing that too much left me with a pretty crunchy shoulder, and splotches of red paint and other damage. Anyway, I've stopped that. One of those dark arts I've always wanted to master.

I used to pick up lumps of grit to practice bowling with too. Possibly the worst elbow injury I've incurred was a spot of Golfers from doing too much "medium seam" with said lumps of grit. The extra mass really accentuated a whiplash effect through my fingers. I've stopped doing that too!

I used to enjoy going down to the local nets to practice. It was quite funny having the Asian lads ask me how I managed to get forearms so big - not that they ever have been, really, for a climber.

None of this is meant to imply that I was ever any good with a cricket ball, but my favourite anecdote is from school. I'd seen the photo of Moffatt on Ulysses, on the cover of Climber & Rambler, so I was psyched, and in the gym every day. On the way back, the captain of the school cricket team was in the nets, so I nonchalantly asked if he'd mind me having a bowl, just the one delivery. I bowled him middle and leg, with a full toss. Satisfying  :)

We ought to sort out a UKB match sometime...

:(

Have you looked at the stuff about beetroot juice? I'm not going all homeopathicbollocks on y'all, MrsTT was involved in a trial of it for high BP in our local NHS trust... *disclaimer* It may well all be horseshit though..

I love beetroot, I never eat it though. Probably a good time to start. A quick scan of beetroot juice articles revealed heavy usage of words such as might, may, possibly...Can I not just eat it raw?

My sympathies. I've been taking pills to cure high blood pressure for a few year now.
