Best wishes to all those facing uncertainty over jobs, hope 2015 proves settled for you.

A trivial NNFN (lacking a WTF??  thread)
I got a parking ticket letter today. Stills from CCTV clearly show my rear wheels on the zigzag outside the school gate, though front wheels on the drive leading through the same.

Because I got out of my car to open the closed gate when driving into the car park  :wall:

Got offered another job at the same place 20% pay cut doing my old job for less money than I did 2 years ago.

I was sure i made the right choice to take it but now 4 days in I remember I hate the job. So regretting my decision now and too late to change my mind.

Oh well, probs another round in June.

I was made redundant back in Feb,  in retrospect it's the best thing that could of happened. Nothing to loose so embarked on setting Ltd co up and working for myself doing stuff I wanted to do but was to chicken to do it.
10 months down and earning more than I was before, happier and less external stress. I got a couple of lucky breaks but experience and connections were what helped.

Not sure how buggered. had a session Thursday but felt no pain what so ever then woke up friday mourning and could barley move my arm above shoulder height and putting any stain on it hurt like hell I.E just moving the gear stick in my car.

I will admit it feels a lot better having done some light therabanding today, which is surprising, i thought it might agro it, but it seems to have stretched it out nicely and taken the sharp pain away and the horrible crunching feeling/noises

fingers crosses its just a very minor sprain and will be better for next week

Probably that murple at the end of the session? Right shoulder?

A week is a long time for a muscular injury to heal, fingers crossed it starts to feel better soon. Always hard to know how long before a trip to start tapering your sessions to prevent injury. I'm always injured though so doesn't matter...

I'm recovering from a shoulder injury (inflammed bicep tendon, not rotator cuff), and found this exercise which I was recommended really helped to strengthen my weak shoulder/arm. It is fairly light-going so hopefully won't hurt.

It's called "Shoulder Shrug 1 - Theraband" http://919clinic.co.uk/Exercises

Would also recommend the physio John on this website.

Hope it helps.

p.s ice the shit out of it.

Left shoulder. Haven't tried the shoulder roles. There's only a very slight dull ache in my shoulder now 4 days on, so sounds like just a bad muscle sprain which hopefully means it will be fully healed in just a couple more days, but its a bit of an eye opener. think i will start to incorporate more antagonist work into my workouts and also do them on my days off climbing when I'm resting.

I've found that regularly doing some yoga and/or press-ups and front plank has made a huge difference to how much I can climb before my shoulders start playing up. Hope you heal up in time for your trip, sounds like most of Sheffield is heading out there.

When it happens to someone else it sounds quite amusing, but I know the feeling:

I made a venison casserole last night, quite a special one as I had made up the recipe a few years ago and my dad had always wanted to try it. He's not very well, so it was nice to make it while all the family were here. Opened the oven door to check how it was doing and it came flying out and half went on the floor.  :'(

Fortunately the family aren't fussy so we scraped up most of it and just got on with it. Was pretty raging though!

Anyway, it was thumbs up all round for the combination of venison, raspberries, dark chocolate and stout - even with unknown extras from the floor ha!

I know there are some awful things shared here, that rightly deserve sympathy and rage against the dying of the light.

But.

Please see this from the point of view of a Father.

She's 9.

As a joke we let her put on Polly's lipstick.

9!

Sloper, very soon I'm going to need a pretty good lawyer, as some young lad is about to incur my wrath.

Justifiable homicide?

Anyone got a shotgun going spare?

Just been diagnosed with tendonitis in two fingers, following a shitload of time off because of resplitting all my fingertips every few sessions.

At the start of 2015, chomping at the bit to get on with training.

No no fucking no.

Sounds good, any chance of the recipe? I should have some game on the way.

Knocked off my bike at 20mph this morning by a non-indicated left turn.

I was really excited about eating my Sri Lankan chicken soup for lunch, but it smashed all over the contents of my bag! nnfn

First day off in a while, sleepily set about doing some exercises I've been doing during the day at work. Didn't give a thought to fact I was barefoot on carpet. 40 moves into some wideouts and I realise I have no skin left under both my big toes  :chair:

Plenty of blood but no skin. Do carpet burns have grades?

Dickhead.

That's why I don't do burpees barefoot :)
