Not sure if this helps, but from my own (far less severe) experience of NHS things/care - if you find the right person to talk to things can move very very fast and be of superb quality.. Sometimes this involves going to see the a different doctor - getting an alternative referral etc...

Thanks folks.  Just wanted a bit of encouragement.  A few shouts of “Allez!” from total strangers are surprisingly motivating when you're struggling.

It seems I'm not all the way back to square one  Still not easy, but not as bad as it was. I'm grateful for that.     

Pretty sure I'm with the best Doctors (a Professor), but they've done all they can do.  Just need to see if I recover, if it's chronic, or something between.  Have decided to treat recovery as if it's training for a long term goal.  Get systematic on it and have a weekly timetable of actions that promote recovery.

Thanks again.  I'll try and report back.  Hope to be posting in YYFY some time soon.

Got called into a very improptu work meeting this afternoon and we were all told that because the business had been tough this year there will be 'restructuring and redundancies' in jan. A definite NNFN since jobs in Parasitology are pretty hard to come by... here's hoping I am not a victim of their restructure
