Managed to miss an early flight when we stayed overnight at Birmingham airport all of 50m from the check in desk,  :slap: long story but it wasn't (all) our fault and it came good in the end at their expense.

Another time 24hrs before a Font trip we realised that neither me or Mrs Obi had applied for a passport for our youngest. Cue completely wasted mad rush to passport office at great expense (fuel, increased passport fee, speeding tic) only to confirm you CANNOT get a FIRST passport in less than a week. Still came good as me and my eldest had a great trip with plenty of quality father and son time, Mrs Obi had a nice time with her folks and the baby!

I now rather overplan for trips aboard.  :-[

You have to elaborate on the first one, did you get so pissed you were unable to crawl the remaining 50 metres?

The short(ish) version is we did oversleep by about 20min, however still got to the desk with plenty of time spare (more than an hour), but the numbty 3rd party crew handling the flight massively understaffed the desk (and gate) so the queue for 3 flights was manned by one desk. Consequently we got to the front to be told the flight was closed. We weren't the only ones. Then they had the audacity to blame us for turning up late! Eventually they reviewed CCTV, admitted they were at fault and paid for different flights, transfers and breakfast.

Trip to Font just gone I (admittedly jetlagged having only landed from Sydney 48 hrs before) misread the arrival time in Calais as our departure time from Dover. Realised in such time that if we'd sprinted out of the door and done 100mph all the way we might have just made it. Took the option of paying the extra £35 for the later crossing.

Also, while living in London was meant to be on an early train (6am from Paddington) down to Plymouth with colleagues. Told my boss to ring me once she got to the station to find out where I'd be. She called at 5:40am, asked where I was and the answer was "shit - still at home in bed...slept through my alarm"!

No insurance ...
I had taken her brother in for illness the day before and yes back in tomorrow for a check up picking her up at the same time
She does not need an operation so hoping not too expensive
Also had to buy a cage to keep her in

So will have a dog cage for sale in two months.

Hmmm, nothing a cat likes more than being cooped up in a cage.
Standby for angry cat!

Mine's on the shit list with the Mrs right now.
Damn thing casually strolled up to the dogs bowl, just after we'd put her food down, and crapped all over it!

Hope the break mends clean.

I had a cat who climbed in through a high window with a fully broken pelvis, discovered her in the morning, took to vets. He wasn't very reassuring - she was fine a month or two later. Be optimistic, they're pretty tough little things.

One of mine broke its leg really badly (ops, pins etc. cost about £2K but we were insured) and had to spend several weeks in a cage; he was remarkably tolerant of it.

I turned up 24 hrs early at Geneva airport after climbing in Cham. Luckily I had a mate out there who I was staying with... I also flew out there on Sept 11th the year afterthe twin towers. The flight was super cheap and empty!

This might slow me down a bit:

Managed to rip a fingertip whilst trying alternative sequences to my initial low-percentage lunge method on "Travailleurs de la mer" at St Bauzille.

Slipped on a greasy slope last Friday, landed on my back and (suspected) bruised my ribs. Wednesday woke up with the most intense muscle spasms ever (and pain induced turettes), it does not seem to be getting better even dosed up on a cocktail of Diazapan, Co codamol and ibuprofen, gutted to be missing the good weather and worried about summer riding plans going to shit  :'(

Nightmare Ian. Keep popping the pills though and it'll soon wear off, when I did my back in a few years back it felt like it was never going to fix (compression fracture of L1) but the pills did the trick and was playing Sunday league footy in four weeks. Keep the faith!

I picked up a Hippo bag, half full of plaster waste, with Chris yesterday. Top end of a 2 man lift.
I said " watch your back Chris, lifting like that.

And slipped on a bit of lath/sawdust.

Shagged my back.

Stiff as a pr0n stars cock.

I feel your pain, dude.

I screwed my back 2 weeks ago putting the kids to bed (it's all rock and roll). Despite being hadly able to move or sleep for a few days, it's been fine this week. Use it as an excuse to put your feet up and drink beer in the sun.
