Nalle Hukkataival has made the first repeat of l'Alchimiste in Apremont. The problem was originally graded 8B by Marc Le Menestrel at the time of the first ascent in 1997, but it soon lost one of its holds in a mysterious hold chopping incident.

I thought the hold broke rather than was chipped?
Quote from: Marc Le Menstrel
Of course, I resented very much the breaking of the holds, without having ever figured out what happened. [...]
PS. I did the first ascent in 1996 and repeated it the year after, in 1997, before the camera of the video Bleau

Jorg Verhoeven School Room Ticklist (in order):
Basic Jez 7A+ (Flash)
Stuey 5 Bellies 8A+ (Flash)
Fluffy Little Wolf Grrrr 7C+ (Flash)
School Boy 7C (Flash)
Basic Ben 7C (Flash)
Lego goes to Alberquerky 7C (Flash)

Made up his own thing that looked 8B but didn't quite do it. Had a flash go on Alex's new 8A+ and Feel the Pinch and nearly did both.

This was all 7th day on. Very impressive!

I'd be more interested in what went on the previous six days, in the Peak presumably?

I take it he quite likes 50 degree overhangs then?

He wasn't that impressed at first but he got into it.

Nothing that significant but he got out on the grit lots and did lots of soloing etc. Think he thought Bus Stop Mantel at Rowtor was the trickiest! He also went straight up the prow of the My Apple start. That been done? He said it was easy but good.

Yes, Bonjoy led it around the time he did the other two. Any more chats with the chicken lady?

Has this become a sort of gentleman's behaviour, to flash Stuey?
Like, I'm honoured to be here, let me flash it for yor pleasure as a sign of respect.
Did he try Perky?

It's called Apple Tree. Easier than the groove finish but the trickiest move is the top out so a bit spookier.  The tree gets in the way a bit but it climbs well.

Ah cool. Yeah he said the top was the toughest part.

Yeah within 5 minutes of us being at Kim's slap (Ty wanted to do it) she came over. We had a brief and civil chat with her, climbed there for about 30 minutes (she didn't come back up) and then left. I thought it was funny cause her husband was revving their car and making loads of noise, that'll scare the chickens if nothing else!

I hope that problem name translates as "The Carnivorous Wig". Alas, like "Attention Egg Chefs" I doubt it's that amusing.

'The Carnivorous Spinning Top' SS is your translation Fiend.

Jasper, there's a small difference between 'oeuf' (egg) and 'oeuvre' (work).

At least you passed the pretentious test and we know you don't like to talk about the 'auteur' and his 'oeuvre' when sat in the cinema chomping popcorn in front of Despicable Me etc etc

So your problem is called:

'Take note-Masterpiece.'

:wall: :wall: :wall:
What will be next? Maybe a drone footage of a drone filming the driving to the crag? Or a drone footage of the mechanic fixing the climber's car before taking it to drive to the crag?

It was a novel shot which I appreciated briefly, before it regressed quickly to the same level of banality of a regular driving-to-the-crag shot.

'kin ell people, Nalle's reclimbed l'Alchimiste! the aerial footage was cool/distracting/annoying - delete as appropriate, but it's hardly the point here!

Good point, once past that bit, the video was good (although Marc's white trousers are disturbing) and the sequence looks a load harder! Chapeau Nalle.
