Have just had my ultrasound.
They said that the bicep tendon has detached from the bone and retracted approx 3 cm up my arm and the tendon sheath is empty. I am still adamant that I've ripped my brachialis tendon as well although they couldn't see that on the ultrasound as its too deep.
I raised my concerns with the  scan technician and she said that they would be able to see if that was damaged when they do the surgery.
Now I've got to wait to get my appointment for surgery etc... I presume that I will be being referred to a consultant who I will meet before I have my surgery so I can rise my concerns then as well? or should I be going back and insisting on an MRI before surgery?

It might be worth speaking to Irish Si about this. I think he did something similar a year or two ago.

Ouch, but glad this has been spotted and can hopefully be sorted relatively quickly. 

You're in good company. John Gill had the same injury and returned to doing one-arm pull-ups after the surgery. 

Thread on supertopo.  The guy is back climbing easy stuff 4 months later.

Nope.
But it's a partial tear of the muscle belly.  Treat as usual:  RICE.

I also seem to have done this, rather than, as I first feared separating my tendon. Obviously I can figure out the rest and ice part, was wondering about the compression and elevation, put a tubigrip on it, walk everywhere with my arm in the air?
