I was playing on this yesterday (mainly because it was the only bit of dry rock)
so good pocket with L, R on layaway, rock up with R foot on the blackened smear & left leg waving about randomly slap right hand to sloper &.....

fall off again.

Any thoughts, thanks?

That is basically how its done.

Once you slap the sloper with the right hand , try to bounce your hand leftwards to the better part of the hold.

Otherwise it can be done the dyno way , where you dyno up with the left hand from the pockets to the juggy sandy hold

Thanks Ian I had a nasty feeling I hadn't missed any huge holds :)
Nice picture.
I can't get near the dyno version & the right hand variant looks more interesting anyway.

Really close examination of Ian's picture (who said I'm bored at work?) has revealed that the climber
(I can tell it's an ian but not which one) is actually right up on the foothold like it's an edge.

I've been smearing cos there isn't actually a hold there.
Now I suspect that few cm of extra height might make the difference.
Can I ask if you guys actually come up onto that foothold like that?

I realise this is bordering on the deranged but I did one of those master class thingies a while back & part of the feedback was something like

strengths:       precise footwork

weaknesses:    fails to stand on toes

& I've been wondering what exactly this means & it looks like I might have just got a clue.
